The $3.5 million was raised from more than 112,000 total contributions, with the average donation being about $27.<\/p>\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Harrison is starting\u00a02020 with more than $4.6 million cash on hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis campaign is about bringing hope back into the lives of the people of the Palmetto State and bringing a spirit of public service back to the Senate,\u201d Harrison said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am fighting to ensure every South Carolinian has access to good paying jobs and affordable quality healthcare. South Carolinians deserve a Senator in Washington that will stand up and fight for them. I am running to be the change our great state deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harrison is a Democratic National Committee official and former chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party.
