It intends to present draft legislation by mid-2010 to regulate clearing-house operations such as risk management and governance. Trade in standard forms of derivatives would also be obliged to pass through central counterparty (CCP) clearing, a process where the clearing house limits market risk by acting as buyer to every seller and seller to every buyer. <\/p>\n<p>By the end of 2010, the Commission will propose legislation that would substantially raise the capital requirements of financial institutions involved in bilateral trade in derivatives. <\/p>\n<p>Michel Barnier, the European commissioner-designate for financial services, said in a note to MEPs last month that he supported reform, and wants to create a \u201ccoherent legal framework\u201d for derivatives. <\/p>\n<p>The companies, all members of the European Association of Corporate Treasurers, said they were \u201cspecifically\u201d concerned by the Commission\u2019s plans to push trading onto exchanges or through CCP clearing, because it would reduce market flexibility and increase costs.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<footer class=\"content-credits\">\n<h6>Authors:<\/h6>\n<dl class=\"vcard\">\n<dt class=\"credits-author\"><span class=\"vcard\">Jim Brunsden<\/span>&nbsp;<\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<\/footer>\n<p>Click Here: <a href='https:\/\/www.kankenbags.com\/pinko-handbag' title='pinko shop cheap'>pinko shop cheap<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Firms claim regulation will hamper recovery Commission warned about its plans to regulate the derivatives market.
