{"id":4563,"date":"2020-03-31T13:33:18","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T13:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sportsnewsforyou.com\/?p=4563"},"modified":"2020-03-31T13:33:18","modified_gmt":"2020-03-31T13:33:18","slug":"ministers-criticise-justice-and-home-affairs-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/googmn.com\/?p=4563","title":{"rendered":"Ministers criticise justice and home affairs plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<header>\n<h1>Ministers criticise justice and home affairs plan<\/h1>\n<p class=\"subhead\">Member states unhappy with parts of the Stockholm action plan. <\/p>\n<\/header>\n<footer class=\"meta\">\n<p class=\"byline\">European Voice<\/p>\n<\/footer>\n<footer class=\"meta\">\n<p>\n\t\t\tBy\t\t\t<span class=\"byline\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"vcard\">Toby Vogel<\/span>\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"timestamp\"><time datetime=\"2010-06-03T10:13:37+00:00\">6\/3\/10, 10:13 AM CET<\/time><\/p>\n<p class=\"updated\">Updated <time datetime=\"2014-04-12T19:39:40+00:00\">4\/12\/14, 7:39 PM CET<\/time><\/p>\n<\/footer>\n<p>Interior ministers today&nbsp;criticised the European Commission for its handling of the Stockholm Programme, the Union\u2019s five-year action plan for justice and home affairs. <\/p>\n<p>The ministers, meeting in Luxembourg,&nbsp;merely \u201ctook note\u201d of the Commission\u2019s plan to implement the programme, whereas in previous years they formally adopted the plan. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the actions proposed by the Commission are not in line with the Stockholm Programme,\u201d they wrote in their conclusions, while parts of the programme were left out of the action plan. <\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Cecilia Malmstr\u00f6m, the European commissioner for home affairs, said: \u201cBoth the spirit and the wording of the Stockholm Programme in the field of home affairs are clearly reflected in the action plan.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The decision not to adopt the action plan has no practical implications as it is up to the Commission, as a rule, to propose legislation in the area of justice and home affairs. The Commission has made it clear that it intends to follow its plan. <\/p>\n<p>A member state diplomat said that the tussle was mainly the result of new commissioners asserting their authority over the member states.
