Kennedy speech are among 25 recordings being inducted to the National Recording Registry.<\/h2>\n<p>The Library of Congress announced Wednesday that \u201cLa Bamba,\u201d \u2033Gunsmoke\u201d and \u201cHair\u201d are some of the titles tapped for preservation this year. The national library chose a few more memorable titles including Neil Diamond\u2019s \u201cSweet Caroline,\u201d Earth, Wind &amp; Fire\u2019s \u201cSeptember\u201d and Sam &amp; Dave\u2019s \u201cSoul Man.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The registry is adding Kennedy\u2019s recorded speech after Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.\u2019s 1968 assassination \u2014 two months before Kennedy was killed.<\/p>\n<p>Curtis Mayfield\u2019s \u201cSuperfly,\u201d Lauper\u2019s \u201cShe\u2019s So Unusual\u201d and Jay-Z\u2019s \u201cBlueprint\u201d album are being added.<\/p>\n<p>Other songs being added include Nina Simon\u2019s \u201cMississippi Goddam,\u201d Sylvester\u2019s \u201cYou Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)\u201d and \u201cSchoolhouse Rock!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The library selects titles for preservation because of their cultural and historic importance to the American soundscape.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES (AP) \u2014 Songs performed by Jay-Z, Cyndi Lauper and a Robert F.
