Thierry Henry has apologised for a foul-mouthed outburst towards\u00a0Strasbourg defender Kenny Lala during Monaco’s 5-1 defeat on Saturday.<\/p>\n
With his side 2-1 down, Henry let rip at Lala for time wasting on the touchline just before half-time.<\/p>\n
Henry appeared to use a French insult which translates as \u201cgrandson of a b***h\u201d or \u201cyour grandmother’s a w***e\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Arsenal legend’s words were picked up on the microphone by broadcaster Canal Plus.<\/p>\n
“I said it needed to stop, it was too much,\u201d he said at his post-match news conference.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are fighting against everything. If there is that as well\u2026 it needs to stop.\u201d<\/p>\n
While it is unclear whether he will face any retribution as a result, the 41-year-old has since issued an apology.<\/p>\n
“You don’t see everything that happens on the sidelines,” he said.<\/p>\n
“At the moment, the fourth official told the referee four times there had been a foul but he was ignored. It’s tiring.<\/p>\n
“It’s not the first time, sometimes I do it in English.<\/p>\n
“It’s a reaction and I regret it. I’m only human. It was a combination of many things.”<\/p>\n
Henry has managed only four wins in 19 games since he was appointed last October and Monaco are 19th in Ligue 1 three points from safety.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
