Barack Obama\u00a0was treated to some impromptu Christmas caroling during a\u00a0holiday visit to his native Hawaii over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Windward ReSisters, a local Hawaii-based women’s movement, set up shop outside\u00a0the Paul Mitchell estate in Lanikai, where the Obamas were staying, and began serenading the former first family on their inaugural\u00a0Christmas since leaving office.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe got our group together on Saturday and went with our pussy hats and Santa hats and proceeded to Christmas carol in front of the estate,\u201d group member Darlene Mandel told People<\/em>. \u201cWe sounded terrible,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\n In the end it paid off, and at one point Obama snuck out from the holiday party he was hosting to mingle with the carolers.<\/p>\n \n \n Darlene Mandel\u200e\/Pantsuit Nation<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cAfter about 10 minutes, he came out with three Secret Service agents and I was ready with my trusty camera,\u201d Mandel noted. The former POTUS shook hands with several of the women and hugged one.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cHe was joking because my girlfriend spilled champagne on him,” Mandel added.\u00a0“It was short and sweet and made our Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n \n \n Darlene Mandel\u200e\/Pantsuit Nation<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Mandel shared photos and a video from the run-in on\u00a0the private Facebook group Pantsuit Nation.
