Cardi, a former stripper, seeks as much respect for her past profession as she does for her current career. \u201cPeople say, \u2018Why do you always got to say that you used to be a stripper? We get it,\u2019 Cardi said in an\u00a0interview, explaining, \u201cBecause y\u2019all don\u2019t respect me because of it, and y\u2019all going to respect these strippers from now on.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
When it comes to the #MeToo movement, Cardi sees the exclusion of women in her industry in a similar light. \u201cA lot of video vixens have spoke about this and nobody gives a fuck,\u201d she explained. \u201cWhen I was trying to be a vixen, people were like, \u2018You want to be on the cover of this magazine?\u2019 Then they pull their dicks out. I bet if one of these women stands up and talks about it, people are going to say, \u2018So what? You\u2019re a ho. It don\u2019t matter.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
