Tottenham will NOT sign\u00a0Giuseppe Rossi this month, the Premier League club’s manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed.<\/p>\n
Rossi, the former Italy international, was linked with a shock move to north London earlier this week, with reports in Italy saying Spurs had approached the 31-year-old over a pay-as-you-play deal.<\/p>\n
The striker is currently a free agent and is training with former side Manchester United as he searches for a new club.<\/p>\n
The alleged offer for Rossi was made in the wake of Harry Kane being ruled out through injury until early March, leaving Pochettino with just a single senior attacker, Fernando Llorente, to choose from.<\/p>\n
Kane is joined on the treatment table by Lucas Moura, while the pair’s fellow attacker Heung-Min Son is currently representing his country at the Asian Cup.<\/p>\n
Rumours suggest Spurs will delve into the transfer market to replace Kane, possibly on a short-term basis, but Rossi is NOT one of the club’s targets.<\/p>\n
“There are many names that appear in every transfer window,” Pochettino said in a press conference on Friday. “He (Rossi) is another name to add to the list.<\/p>\n
“It is a rumour and we are not considering him. It is a rumour and it is not a possibility.”<\/p>\n
talkSPORT revealed earlier this week that a ‘top-level meeting’ was planned by Tottenham chiefs to discuss their options apropos Kane’s injury.<\/p>\n
