The\u00a0oil executive\u2014whose cozy relationship with the Kremlin has worried some\u2014will fit right\u00a0in alongside Trump\u2019s other plutocrats,\u00a0World Wrestling Entertainment\u00a0co-founder Linda McMahon, philanthropist Betsy DeVos, and Tod Ricketts, the son of TD Ameritrade founder Joe Ricketts.<\/p>\n

So if you want to know who Trump will pick next, it seems you just have\u00a0to\u00a0follow the money\u2014Trump\u2019s campaign money, that is.<\/p>\n

Many of Trump\u2019s cabinet picks have come from his most generous fundraisers. He\u2019s chosen six such donors\u00a0as cabinet secretaries and\u00a0deputies so far. The group will\u00a0head the country\u2019s most important positions, dealing with the most complicated issues of our time, in one of the most sensitive times in American history.\u00a0Most, as well, have beliefs that undermine the very posts they\u2019ve been tapped to lead.<\/p>\n

For someone who\u00a0swept into the White House on promises\u00a0to \u201cdrain the swamp\u201d of corporate elites and Washington, D.C., bureaucrats, the choices seem contradictory\u00a0at best. At worst, perhaps, diabolical.<\/p>\n

The Washington Post<\/em> called the lineup of millionaires and billionaires \u201cunprecedented.\u201d<\/p>\n

Together, according to\u00a0The Washington Post<\/em>, the\u00a0six families who Trump has\u00a0tapped for top positions\u00a0have\u00a0given the Trump campaign, his aligned Super PACs, and the Republican National Committee $11.6 million.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the rundown:<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s nominee for education secretary, Betsy DeVos, is the wife of Richard DeVos, the co-founder of Amway, a company that has been\u00a0accused of being a pyramid scheme. The DeVos family gave well over a million dollars to both the Trump campaign and the RNC.<\/p>\n

Trump named Linda McMahon as small business administrator after she gave $7.5 million to the campaign, the RNC and Super PACs for Trump.<\/p>\n

Former Goldman Sachs executive Steve Mnuchin, who was Trump\u2019s national finance chair and major donor, was nominated for treasury secretary.<\/p>\n

Fast-food executive and anti-work regulations crusader\u00a0Andrew Puzder\u00a0gave Trump over $300,000 and was subsequently\u00a0named labor secretary.<\/p>\n

It also helps to be the son of those who contributed to the campaign. The Ricketts\u00a0family\u00a0gave generously\u00a0to Trump.\u00a0Soon after, their son Todd was nominated for deputy commerce secretary.<\/p>\n

Commerce secretary\u00a0goes to Wilbur Ross, a billionaire investor that went to bat for Trump and held\u00a0lavish campaign fundraisers.<\/p>\n
