Arsenal legend Martin Keown has criticised Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa, insisting he \u2018should be not applauded\u2019 for spying on his opponents\u2019 training sessions.<\/p>\n
Having admitted to sending a scout to watch Derby County train ahead of their Championship clash last Friday, Bielsa has now revealed Leeds have watched ALL of their rivals’ training sessions this season.<\/p>\n
In a quite incredible impromptu press conference on Wednesday, the Argentine boss lifted the lid on his and his staff\u2019s painstaking research and analysis on every Championship side.<\/p>\n
That had many fans turn from outrage to admiration for the boss.<\/p>\n
However, former defender Keown believes spying on other teams is morally wrong and suggests rules should be rewritten to ensure the \u2018scandal\u2019 does not happen again.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Thursday\u2019s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, the Arsenal legend said: \u201cIt seems like he wants a pat on the back for being honest about his dishonesty!<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s a scandal.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo employ somebody to spy on the opposition, I think it\u2019s cheating, it\u2019s low and I lose respect for people.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe all want to win, of course we do, but not at all costs.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a manager, you prepare your team and you pit your wits against your opposite manager.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo delve in to find that information, I think it\u2019s despicable. I don\u2019t get why he feels that he needs to do that.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo come out yesterday with all that information, saying \u2018this is my professionalism\u2019, no, it\u2019s dishonest.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt can\u2019t be applauded.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s no rule against it, but there might be in the future.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t actually heard him say he\u2019s not going to do it again!<\/p>\n
\u201cLeeds have steamrollered their way to the top of the table \u2013 the other teams are playing against an opponent who knows every move you\u2019re going to make.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a distinct advantage and a disadvantage for the opposing team and manager.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe might say he\u2019s being professional, but he\u2019s actually taking it far too far.<\/p>\n
\u201cMorally, it\u2019s outrageous.<\/p>\n
