The 45-year-old also hopes to play a role in selection but revealed those details have not been discussed yet.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always been a selector,\u201d he added. \u201cI see it as an important part of coaching \u2013 getting the right players in the room is where it starts, and if you get that wrong, you\u2019re always chasing. I\u2019d like to be in the discussion, though we haven\u2019t had formal talks around that yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, for now, MacDonald\u2019s focus is completely on the Blues as he looks to go out on a high with the Super Rugby Pacific title.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got so much going on here with the Blues,” he said. “We\u2019re right at the pointy end of the season, a month or two away from the playoffs, and it\u2019s going to come round quickly. There\u2019s a big break between the end of Super Rugby, and when we officially start on November 1, so there will be plenty of time for planning then,<\/p>\n
