Everton scout Carlo Jacomuzzi has confirmed the club’s interest in Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara.<\/p>\n
The Guinean has been touted as a possible replacement for Idrissa Gueye, who has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park\u00a0to French champions PSG.<\/p>\n
The Toffees would need to replace Gueye immediately if he was to leave this month – and Everton talent-spotter Jacomuzzi has confirmed he has been watching the 21-year-old in action.<\/p>\n
However, he also stated but he has doubts about whether a move would be completed this month.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Naples based radio station Radio Kiss Kiss, he said: \u201cIs there interest? Sure, we have a similar player in Gueye. Swapping clubs midway through the season doesn\u2019t make sense. He\u2019s playing Champions League, we are not, so it\u2019s not something concrete.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s definitely an interesting player, which is why we\u2019ve put him in our notebooks and on the board so one day we can say \u2018we recommended him\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
Diawara has not been a regular in the Napoli line-up this season under Carlo Ancelotti and may be keen to move away to seek more first-team action.<\/p>\n
He has made just 12 Serie A appearances and a\u00a0move to Marco Silva’s side could suit both parties should Gueye’s move to Paris materialise.<\/p>\n
Another name that Everton have been linked with is Watford’s powerhouse midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.<\/p>\n
