Speaking to the press after this afternoon’s Champions League round of 16 draw, Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Lu\u00eds Campos has reacted to his club being drawn against Bayern Munich, in what will be a remake of the 2020 final that the French side lost.<\/p>\n

The Ligue 1 leaders were left to be drawn against a group winner after dropping down from first place in their own pool in improbable circumstances, as Benfica’s 6-1 win against Maccabi Haifa meant they were able to overtake PSG on away goals, despite Christophe Galtier’s men winning in Turin.<\/p>\n

For Campos, neither side will have the upper hand going into the two-legged tie. He also pointed out that it would be the chance for the team to get their own back after the 2020 final, in which a PSG youth product in Kingsley Coman nodded in the winner, even if they did go on to beat their future opponents in the quarter-finals the following year as well.<\/p>\n

“It’s very motivating, I know everyone will be giving 100%. To have the opportunity, first at the Parc and in Munich, to play with the quality we have this year – that’s how we have to see things, in a very positive way, we are confident. It’s a good time to play against Bayerm, we’re feeling really good, very confident with the season we’re having. There are no favourites in a match like that.”<\/p>\n
