Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa need not spy on any training sessions to realise the talent of Daniel James.<\/p>\n
The exciting wideman is reportedly being lined up as a replacement for Samu Saiz, who left Elland Road for Getafe earlier this month.<\/p>\n
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are desperate to land the 21-year-old Wales international before the end of the month, with Swansea asking for more than \u00a33million.<\/p>\n
He’s started 12 games in the Championship this season, while also appearing off the bench five times, and is earning rave reviews for his displays.<\/p>\n
Team-mate Oli McBurnie remains keen for him to stay.<\/p>\n
He said:\u00a0“I\u2019m going to lock him in a room and have a word with him soon. He\u2019s been playing really well and when you have big performances like his, you\u2019re going to get attention.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s down to the club to do what they need to do, but we want to keep our youngest and best players.<\/p>\n
\u201cDJ is one of the players we want to build our team around. The basis of a good team is young players.\u201d<\/p>\n
Callum O’Dowda, 23, has also been linked and may be a backup option for James.<\/p>\n
He has two Championship goals and four assists for Bristol City this season and renewed his contract only last week.<\/p>\n
According to the Bristol Post, Leeds would have to pay \u00a310million to bring him to Elland Road, which would make the Irishman their biggest signing since Robbie Fowler in 2001.<\/p>\n
Robins boss Lee Johnson, however, has no intention of selling.<\/p>\n
Whichever winger comes in, they will join Kiko Casilla at the club after he signed from Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old comes in having played 25 league games for the Spanish giants over three and a half seasons and will be an upgrade on Bailey Peacock-Farrell.<\/p>\n
