WWE Elimination Chamber 2015
The 2015 WWE Elimination Chamber special event opens with the usual bad-ass video package highlighting all of the key storylines heading into tonight’s show.
WWE Tag-Team Championship
(Elimination Chamber Match)
– The Prime Time Players vs. Los Matadores vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs. The New Day (c) vs. The Ascension vs. The Lucha Dragons
After the opening video package, we shoot into the ring, which is covered by the Elimination Chamber. Lilian Garcia does a lengthy introduction/explanation of the first match, which will be the WWE Tag-Team Championship Elimination Chamber match.
Out first come the Prime Time Players. As they make their way to the ring, the announcers try to better explain and elaborate on what the rules are for this first-ever WWE Tag-Team Championship Elimination Chamber match. Titus O’Neil and Darren Young are locked into their pod.
From there, the Los Matadores, accompanied by El Torito, make their way to the ring. As they make their way to the ring, we are introduced to tonight’s Spanish commentary team, who quickly introduce themselves at ringside. El Torito is helped on top of the pod, where the Los Matadores are locked inside.
Next out are Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, who make their way to the ring accompanied by Natalya. Those two are locked in a pod as well.
The WWE Tag-Team Champions — The New Day — make their way out next. All three members come out clapping. And as announced during the Kickoff Show by Kane, all three members of the team will be part of this match. All three guys are locked in their pod.
Finally, the last two teams, both of which will be starting out the match inside the ring, make their way out. First out are Konnor and Viktor, The Ascension. Finally, The Lucha Dragons — Kalisto and Sin Cara make their way out.
The bell sounds and finally, here we go. The Lucha Dragons dominate the action early on, flying all over the place and taking it to both members of The Ascension. Eventually, the size and power advantage takes over the speed and quickness of The Lucha Dragons.
Kalisto climbs on top of a pod but gets his foot stuck in the chains. The Ascension climb to the top rope and beat up Kalisto. Sin Cara, on the other side of the ring on top of a pod, hits a huge flip off of the top and lands on top of one of The Ascension members. Kalisto tries to follow up, but The New Day yank his foot from inside the pod and now he’s stuck up there again.
The clock ticks down and it’s time for our next team to enter the match. The buzzer sounds and it’s Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. Both guys exit their pod, enter the ring and immediately take it to both the Lucha Dragons and The Ascension.
Once they establish control of the three guys in the ring, Cesaro climbs to the top rope and free’s Kalisto from having his foot stuck in the pod beneath him.. Cesaro, from the top rope, hits a giant superplex on Kalisto, who is on top of the pod. Both guys crash down to the mat below. The fans in Texas pop huge for that spot.
On commentary, Jerry Lawler actually refers to Michael Cole as “J.R.” Cole doesn’t let it go for a while. Meanwhile, the action continues in the ring, with Kalisto climbing all over the fencing like Spiderman. He climbs back on top of a pod, this time it’s the Prime Time Players pod. Now he’s trying to climb to the roof of the cage upside down.
As Kalisto continues his Spiderman act, the clock ticks down. Now the Los Matadores exit their pod and enter the cage. From the top of their pod, El Torito hits a flying splash onto several of the guys in the ring. Kalisto is now swinging from the roof of the Chamber. Literally, he is on the very tip-top of the cage holding on and occassionally swinging.
Finally, Kalisto swings his body back-and-forth and lets go. Once he does, everyone is in the ring right in the middle and Kalisto comes crashing down on all of the guys. The fans break out into a “This Is Awesome” chant as the action continues in the ring.
Now El Torito is climbing to the roof. He lets go but is caught and slammed. The Ascension hits their finisher on Los Matadores. 1-2-3. Los Matadores are eliminated from the match. Seconds later, they hit their finisher on the Lucha Dragons. 1-2-3. Now the Lucha Dragons are eliminated.
The clock starts ticking down again and this time it’s the Prime Time Players who are let loose. Titus O’Nel and Darren Young come exploding out of their pod and the team is immediately beat down by The Ascension.
The action continues, now with Kidd and Cesaro getting involved, and out of nowhere The Ascension are pinned and eliminated. Now it’s down to Kidd and Cesaro and O’Neil and Young, with all three members of The New Day waiting to be let out of their pod.
The fans in Texas break out into another “This Is Awesome” chant as Kidd and Cesaro seem to be taking control of the action. It isn’t long, however, both all guys of both teams are down on the mat trying to get back to their feet. The fans try and clap and cheer to encourage the guys to get back to their feet.
As the guys slowly start to make their way back to their feet, the clock ticks down, the buzzer sounds and in comes the WWE Tag-Team Champions — The New Day.
All three members, Big E., Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods immediately enter the ring and go to work on their opponents. All pods are clear now as the fans chant “New Day …sucks! New Day …sucks!”
Cesaro and Kidd momentarily beat all five guys down, both PTP members and all three New Day members. They lock Xavier Woods back in the pod so now things are even, with all three remaining teams only having two members involved in the match.
Cesaro gets a hold of Kingston and does the big Cesaro Swing to him, which the fans in Corpus Christi seemed to enjoy. Unfortunately, as soon as Cesaro is done with the swing, Darren Young rolls him up and pins him. Cesaro and Kidd are eliminated.
The only two teams left in the match now are the Prime Time Players and The New Day. Big E. gets Xavier Woods out of the pod, so now we’re down to a three-on-two advantage in favor of the tag-champs. The New Day are easily dominating the action due to the numbers game.
The New Day continue to dominate, squeezing O’Neil’s face through the fencing until finally Darren Young freaks out and in Superman mode, goes berzerk on all three members of New Day, including slamming Big E. through one of the pods.
O’Neil is back up now and he and Young are double-teaming any member of The New Day that approaches them. Finally, the numbers game is too much, as The New Day seems to be in control again. The finish comes when the three team up on O’Neil after taking out Young. Kingston hits his Trouble In Paradise kick while O’Neil was distracted. 1-2-3. The New Day retains.
